C afe Pascussi is the first franchise in Chennai for the Italian group, following Bangalore and Mysore. Here is where you get the thinner, crispier and more authentic Italian pizza - a break from the regular thick-crusted fare we get often. The menu is clearly divided between food and beverages, as separate menu cards pop up. The Greek salads and bruschetta were, very fresh served on cold porcelain. We flag off in Italian style, with a hot coffee and herb crumbed chicken and mushroom. My Pizza Veg arrived, steaming like roasted dosa coated with cheese, asparagus, American corn, pepper, pine-apple and broccoli. Divided as Appetizers, Salads, Piadines (Italian bread), Sandwiches, Pasta and Pizzas, there are quite a lot to choose from. Vegetarian choices are ample. Express meal, priced at Rs.135 is a package of 1 juice, 2 pizzas of your choice and rum-n-raisin rolls for desserts for those on the go. Eighty two beverages are listed, out of which fifty eight are coffees!. We had Cappuccino Argentino, complete with beautiful patterns on the frothy top, and 'Coppa Del Padrino' (Yoghurt mousse, strawberries and vanilla ice-cream with coffee). With some Italian music ,this place could be imagined as where Cafe Coffee Day meets Fellini's cinema and gets cornered at Express Mall.
