I f it was a feast of beautiful sarees, and if you are the Chennai lady- then you can never have your fill, can you? Giving the city's women a new taste of tradition mixed with fashion is Kalaniketan, which has opened its account in Chennai's saree market recently!
Already a household name in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, it was only a matter of time before Kalaniketan entered the rich cultural capital of the south, Chennai. At the three outlets that have been launched, you will find an
eclectic spread of sarees ranging from kanjivarams, uppadas, real zari kotas, to paithanis and designer sarees. Kalaniketan is also known for its grand ghagras, salwar suits and dress materials.
What better way to show off the.Kalaniketan look than to have actor Tamannaah open the store at T.Nagar? Hoping to give the city a new spin on the saree buying experience, one of the owners of Kalaniketan, Mr. Leela Kumar said, "I want our customers to leave the shop feeling that they have
bought an experience rather than just a lovely saree.".
Speaking at their launch, Mr. Leela Kumar said that Kalaniketan will open five stores in all in Tamilnadu. The first three stores have been opened in T.Nagar, Khader Nawaz Khan Road and the Express Avenue Mall. The other two stores will enter the competitive textile market at Coimabatore in the next 150 days, he added. "We want our customers to feel that they have bought an experience from us- not just a lovely saree," he said.
