ITALIAN brand Sisley welcomes competition but likes to be ahead of the curve. Drop by their day-old store at Express Avenue and you'll know what were talking about.
The Italian fashion offer-ingfrom the Benetton group specialises in dresses, so you'll find a lovely line-up that will please. Think casual, formal and elegant dresses, with a touch of sexy. We like the chic soiree collection in silk, satinandviscose jersey, featuring interesting detaillikedrap-ing, rouche and flounces. "On some of the dresses, find applique stones along the
neckline, or silhouettes with the 'big shoulder' touch of the 80s. Also, this Christmas, there's much more than woollen on offer, so go for fluid velvet dresses," offers brand manager, Ekta Saran. Priced between Rs 2,999 and Rs 4,999.
Perhaps the biggest findhereforChennaiites would be the formal wear for men and women. "We boast of an authentic Italian cut, andthefabricsusedare 100 per cent cotton, as well as silk blends," says Saran. Priced between Rs 1,999 and Rs 3,499 for the shirts, for formal, casual and party wear. Also, expect to see Jacquard prints this season. The accessories are eye-

catching as well, especially the bigs and clutches. "We are focussing on the quilted look for bags, which come in various sizes and colours such as purple and teal, besides the classic black," adds Saran. The hobo, for instance, will be priced at Rs 4,999. There is the Jacquard bag, with the metal chain", which can" be detached and worn as a necklace, priced at Rs 4,999 as well.
And how do they compete with the other Italian offerings in the mall?. "As far as apparel is concerned, it is always about providing more choice to thecustomer," smiles Saran, who adds that Sisley stands out purely for one reason: "The finish, of course." Details: 28464138
