W HEN it comes to effortless style, who better to turn to than the Italians? If you agree, here's good news. Italy-based premium menswear brand, Boggi Milano, which first entered the Indian market in December 2008, will soon open shop at Express Avenue. Anand Nair, brand head, India, describes the soon-to-be-launched store thus: 360 degrees wardrobe solutions for men. "We have clothes suited to all occasions a blue label collection comprising formal wear (think classic jackets, shirts, trqu-sers and ties), a black line that targets the younger, flamboyant crowd (casual and party wear) and a red collection with resort or lounge wear," he elaborates.
And cuts? "Well, the difference between our formal line and the party wear is that the latter comes with tailored fits. Say a classic suit, very fitted in terms of the cut, teamed with a slim seven-centimetre blade tie," he offers. Boggi prides itself on using natural fabrics spurced Italian mills. "We offer 100 per cent cotton shirts, woolen jackets and silk
ties, and everything you see in the store is straight out of the Autumn Winter 2010 ; Collection from Milan," Nair maintains. Apparel apart, there is a wide range of accessories - from ties, belts and cuffinks to shoes, perfumes and bags (office, laptop, cabin, etc).
For the global Indain
Boggi Milano is targeting a clientele that comprises cosmopolitan, 'global Indians.' "Men these days are fashion-conscious and want to stand out from the crowd. People who have travelled to Europe know our brand and clients tend to remain quite loyal," explains Nair.
Trend
Going by the last four seasons, there's no doubt that fitted gar-ments are hot. "These days the fits are thinrier. Customers are now opting for non-pleated trousers and slim fits. Pleated has become passe," says Nair. As for colour, "Watch out for various shades of green like parrot, olive and forest this season," he tells us.
Shirts are priced at Rs 1,990 onwards, suits from Rs 15,000, bags and belts from Rs 1,990, and shoes from Rs 6,900. The Boggi Milano store opens for business next week. Details: 28464570
